Ensured Mission Readiness
A Cooperation ensures the Eurofighter’s operational readiness and mission capability.
Established in 2003 as a cooperation between Airbus and the Federal Republic of Germany – represented by the German Air Force – the Eurofighter System Support Center (SSC EF) is a pioneering model for the operational technical and logistical support of the Eurofighter combat aircraft in service.
At the SUZ EF, located at Airbus’ Manching site, Airbus employees work side by side with German Air Force personnel in the respective departments under cooperative management teams to provide in-service support in accordance with operational requirements, ensuring the outstanding performance and reliable availability of the aircraft.
Eurofighter Center supports German Airforce
They are supported by an User Help Desk that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as needed, and which processes all incoming technical enquiries. They can also call on a large team of engineers for system analysis and software maintenance who have comprehensive, state-of-the-art development and test environments at their disposal.
Organised for success
The employees of the SUZ EF are qualified to perform certified modifications to the entire weapon system for the German Air Force, thereby ensuring national autonomy and enabling the German Air Force to respond directly to evolving operational requirements. They also provide comprehensive product monitoring as well as full-service support for data and fleet management.
Efficient training for Eurofighter engineers
A wide-ranging and comprehensive internal training programme ensures that SUZ - employees attain a high level of specialisation and qualification by rounding out previously acquired academic attainments with content specific to the weapon system.
For example, employees with a degree in aerospace engineering or computer science can train to become Eurofighter Systems Engineers or Avionics Software Engineers.
Capt. Melanie R., System Analysis Avionics
What’s so special about working in a civil-military cooperation is that we can draw on the knowledge and experience of Airbus and the German Air Force at the same time. This means that we can rely on a unique level of expertise in performing our work. At the end of the day, everyone here at SUZ EF contributes to the operational capability of the Eurofighter fleet.
Adam L., Software Maintenance Avionics
The close cooperation with the German Air Force in the SUZ EF means that we are uniquely close to operational activities within the Eurofighter fleet. On a technical level, the opportunity to ultimately be involved in all parts of the development process provides a lot of variety in our day-to-day work.
