We value safety, health, and wellbeing
Airbus values the health, safety and wellbeing of its employees and considers this to be an essential part of running a sustainable business. The Company fosters a culture in which we all take responsibility for our own health, safety and wellbeing, as well as that of others. This means that regardless of seniority, each employee is expected to exercise leadership and take action to promote a safe working environment.
Workplace health and safety is supported by clear targets and transparent reporting that ensures Airbus’ accountability. The Company actively encourages incident reporting and strives to maintain and strengthen a culture where employees feel empowered to speak up. The Company recognises that health and safety excellence takes persistent effort, and that complacency is not an option.
Health and safety awareness is further supported by dedicated communication campaigns and training, as well as by access to multidisciplinary occupational health teams and a platform dedicated to wellbeing.
Promoting people safety

Health and safety key principles
Day after day, our employees must be able to return home safe and sound after work. To achieve this objective, the Company has adopted the Airbus Occupational Health & Safety Policy. This policy provides Airbus employees with a single top level reference for occupational health and safety matters related to Airbus work activities. It contains the principles that drive its focus on continuous improvement in this area:
- Identifying and managing risks to people and the business that could arise from our operations.
- Applying the principles of the international standard ISO 45001 to our management system.
- Developing a "respect and protect" culture where everyone feels responsible for the health and safety of themselves and others.
- Adopting a "zero harm" aspiration, where the health of our people and our company go hand-in-hand.
Our commitments to responsible health and safety management are also contained in the Airbus Code of Conduct, and details of our actions can be found in each annual Airbus Registration Document.

Health and safety risk management
To pursue the highest standards, Airbus has adopted the ISO 45001 standard for occupational health and safety management systems.
Risks are identified, assessed, mitigated and escalated on the basis of standards. Standards also ensure that incidents are reported and that the results of investigations drive improvements.
Airbus encourages employees to get involved and speak up. Health and safety awareness is supported by dedicated communication campaigns and training.

Health and wellbeing support
Wellbeing is more than merely the absence of poor health or physical harm. At Airbus we believe that good health and wellbeing is key to employee engagement, which is the foundation of a positive company culture and productivity.
Multidisciplinary occupational health teams include doctors and nurses, psychologists and other specialists. They work together to ensure employees have appropriate advice, support and health surveillance. Airbus also has a global Employee Assistance Programme.
