Promoting environmental sustainability

Airbus is committed to environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation. Partnering with Say Earth, a nonprofit led by environmentalist Ramveer Tanwar, Airbus volunteers helped restore ponds at Navada Fatehpur in Manesar, Haryana, and Kalkere, Bengaluru. These water bodies, once fetid swamps filled with plastic and waste, have been rejuvenated, improving the water table, recharging groundwater, and restoring greenery and biodiversity.

The initiative, supported by local authorities, transformed the area, benefiting the environment and local communities. Airbus remains dedicated to ecological balance and protecting natural habitats.

India Community programme

Supporting education

Airbus supports education for underprivileged children through impactful initiatives. Partnering with Christel House India, a nonprofit running free schools for underserved communities, Airbus helps break the cycle of poverty by providing scholarships, job skills training, and networking opportunities. To date, Airbus has enabled 41 students to pursue engineering degrees at recognized universities.

Additionally, Airbus collaborates with the Smile Foundation on the YouTech Mentorship Program, inspiring interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among students from government schools in Gurgaon and Bengaluru. This program benefits students in grades 8-10, fostering future opportunities in technology and innovation.

Contributing to youth development

Airbus, in collaboration with Tata STRIVE, supports India's mission to address skill development challenges. This initiative focuses on equipping youth for entry-level roles in IT/ITES and hospitality, offering courses aligned with national and global job demands. The program emphasizes both cognitive and non-cognitive skills to enhance employability and career growth.

Under this project, Airbus is training 75 youth in the AWS re/Start (AWS Cloud Practitioner) course in Delhi NCR within 12 months, targeting a placement rate of at least 70%. Airbus employees actively contribute by volunteering for virtual SME sessions, guiding learners on career-related topics, and helping shape their career paths.

Fighting against hunger and malnutrition, and promoting health

Airbus fights hunger, malnutrition and health care needs with its initiatives with Swanthana Trust & Smile Foundation.

Swanthana Trust  is a  Non-Profit Organisation, located in Bangalore doing welfare by providing accommodation and protection to support children with special needs. Airbus supports this cause by supplying monthly groceries & health care needs for up to 50 children.

Smile Foundation runs an initiative of Smile on Wheels (SoW) which is a national level Mobile Medical Unit program with an objective of providing a comprehensive range of health care services to underprivileged communities in remote rural areas and slums of Delhi. The programme takes well-equipped medical vans along with specialised doctors, nurses, medical staff, and medicines to villages and slums in a systematic manner. Airbus in India has joined hands with Smile Foundation to provide health care in rural and slum areas of Delhi/NCR. Approximately 64,000 beneficiaries are covered through mobile health clinics out of which 70% are women and children and 900 are covered in three special health camps.
