Eurodrone

Large Long Endurance RPAS

Eurodrone stage

A new class of multi-mission RPAS

Eurodrone is the first remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) natively designed for safe and reliable flight in non-segregated airspace, giving Europe its own sovereign capability in this field.

With a payload/endurance performance superior to any competing RPAS currently in the market, Eurodrone offers true multi-mission flexibility from armed IS(TA)R to naval (incl. ASW) and even C³ and AEW.

Eurodrone Maritime 01

A European programme for European sovereignty

Eurodrone is a 4-nation development programme of Germany, France, Italy and Spain, led by the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR). Airbus Defence and Space (GER) is the Industrial Prime together with Leonardo (ITA), Dassault Aviation (FRA) and Airbus Defence and Space (SPA) acting as Major Subcontractors (MSC). Germany takes the role of Lead Nation for the programme.

Unmatched multi-mission capability

The maximum mission payload (excl. fuel) capability of 2.3 t combined with a maximum endurance of up to 40 h provide Eurodrone with a payload/endurance capability that is superior to any other RPAS currently available.

Adding to this the ability to carry underwing payloads gives the users a true multi-mission capability ranging from IS(TA)R to attack and in the future also maritime missions (incl. ASW) as well as C³ and AEW.

Eurodrone Horn of Africa

Full integration into civil airspace

Eurodrone is the first RPAS natively designed for integration into civil airspace. Its certification against NATO STANAG 4671 Ed. 3 and applicable parts of civil aircraft regulations will allow the system to operate without limitations and along optimised flight profiles in non-segregated airspace.

The segregation between the flight and mission chains will also allow for easy future upgrades of the mission system without affecting the baseline flight certification of the system.

Eurodrone Weapon

Safe and reliable flight

Eurodrone’s design philosophy and certification baseline will allow for safe and reliable operations in all kinds of environments and weather situations (incl. severe cold as well as hot and high climatic conditions).

Its twin engine configuration provides for additional redundancy to ensure successful mission completion under any circumstances.

Operational sovereignty

With Eurodrone, users have full sovereignty over how they operate the system and manage their data. The various LOS and BLOS data links provide direct connectivity between the air vehicle and the user’s networked infrastructure for exclusive and confidential data download, analysis and dissemination.

The approach to avoid ITAR components in the design will make Eurodrone a truly sovereign RPAS.
