When can you apply?
We don't have a set period of time, apply 3-4 months before the start of your internship.

What does the internship include?
Career or study orientation is on the program for all pupils during their school years. Of course, it can also be a voluntary internship during school time. TESAT offers you the opportunity to get to know your dream job, get a taste of professional life and find out everything about the wide range of apprenticeships and dual study programs.

Depending on your desired direction, you will experience one or more departments during your internship.

Become part of our team for a week and gain exciting insights into the world of space manufacturing at the Backnang location.

What type of internship do we offer you?

We offer compulsory pupil internships all year round as part of career orientation. 
You must be at least 14 years old when you start your internship.
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any voluntary internships at the Bremen location. Also not during vacations.
Please only apply for mandatory internships.

When can you apply?
Apply at least 6 months before the start of your internship.

In our application portal you will find the periods for which you can apply. Basically, our internships are designed to last two weeks. There is definitely the possibility of a one or three week internship as well.

As long as the job advertisement for your desired period is online, you can apply. If you can no longer find your desired period, then all internship positions have already been taken or the job advertisement has not yet been published.

What does the internship include?
In Bremen you have the option of choosing from the departments listed below. Please tell us in your motivation letter which department rotation you would like to take part in. However, the rotation might change if one of the chosen departments should already be occupied. Please let us know if you have an alternative request.

Department rotations:
1. Landing flap production, maintenance, quality assurance
2. A400M fuselage assembly, development/construction, quality assurance
3. Wing equipment, development/construction, quality assurance
4. Component assembly, small part production (CFRP), development/construction
5. Space assembly, small parts production (metal), development/recyclables testing/new technologies
6. Purchasing, IT/automation, controlling

Pupil internship in the technical area

Are you looking for a pupil internship where you can get to know the interesting and diverse work at our Friedrichshafen location?
We offer a 1-week compulsory internship for pupils in one of the selected apprenticeship or dual study options.

During the compulsory internship for pupils, simple practical activities in the respective selected area are presented in order to gain an essential impression of the tasks of the respective professional groups. The internship is supervised by the respective departments or by the apprenticeship department itself.

The internship is rounded off with extensive information about the apprenticeships and the dual study programs at the Friedrichshafen location.

The development and construction of satellites, instruments and components for space exploration take place at our location in Friedrichshafen. Command and control systems, security systems and mobile systems are also developed and built at our location.

We would be happy if you supported us as an intern (d/m/f).

Requirements:
You must be at least 14 years old when you start your internship. You can only apply for this job advertisement if it is a compulsory internship. Unfortunately, we are currently not offering any voluntary internships at the Hamburg Finkenwerder location, not even during school vacation. Please only apply for mandatory internships. Basically, the internship with us is designed to last two weeks. However, it is also possible to complete a one- or three-week compulsory internship.

You can apply for an internship six months in advance. As long as the job advertisement for your desired period is online, we will accept your application. If you can no longer find your desired period, all internship positions are already occupied.

Select your internship focus (stream):
With us you have the opportunity to complete your internship in various specialist areas (streams). Please let us know in your letter of motivation which stream you are applying for. We reserve the right to make a different assignment if your specified department is already occupied. Please let us know if you have an alternative request in your application. 

The following areas of focus are offered:

Focus: production
In production, you will learn about structural assembly, equipment assembly and final assembly, among other things.

In the equipping department, all systems such as fresh and wastewater systems, hydraulics, fuel systems and electrical systems are installed.

In the final assembly line, all individual parts of the aircraft are put together. A complete aircraft is created from the individual fuselage segments, the landing gear, the vertical stabilizer, the wings and the cabin components.

The so-called working party is part of the final assembly. The remaining work on the aircraft is being carried out here. The aircraft that require major repairs, have complex cabins or technical problems are completed here and then handed over to the flight line.

The almost finished aircraft are on the flight line so that the final work can be carried out on them and then handed over to the customers. Typical work such as quality checks, pre-flight inspections and maintenance and repair work are carried out.

Focus: engineering
In engineering, aircraft components are developed, constructed and optimized. Engineers plan, design and create processes to produce a wide variety of aircraft parts.

The Center for Applied Aviation Research (ZAL) supports the development of new propulsion concepts for aircraft in the future. Airplane cabins are also designed in the research area. The implementation and application of research and development projects as well as the coordination of research partnerships are also part of the ZAL's tasks.

Focus: logistics
Logistics is the interface between production and procurement and is responsible for ensuring that the right aircraft components are transported to the right place at the right time.

Logistics ensures that the production chain is maintained. This means that all the materials needed to build the aircraft arrive at the construction sites on time. Only then can the aircraft be finally assembled.

The so-called tactical crew carries out several hundred transports of aircraft parts every day. Other tasks include looking after the fuel systems, towing aircraft, refueling and defueling and operating industrial trucks.

Focus: business
In the business stream, work is not done directly on the aircraft, but behind the scenes.

Procurement works with many different suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that Airbus receives the materials and services it needs at the best prices and quality and on time.

Finance calculates how much it costs to produce our aircraft and how much profit or loss is made from selling the aircraft. Cost calculations, price comparisons and cost-benefit analysis also play a role.

The Quality area ensures that our materials meet aviation requirements. This is done both in laboratories and directly on the aircraft in production. The department is also responsible for quality management in our aircraft development programs.

The Cabin & Cargo program leads the new development of innovative products in the cabin and cargo sector. The product is supported from the initial idea to industrialization and Airbus always strives to optimize time, costs and quality throughout the entire development process.

Customer services deal with everything that happens after the aircraft has been handed over to the airline. For example, this could be repairs to the aircraft or the new installation of monitors in the existing cabins. The department looks after the aircraft until they are recycled.

What type of internship do we offer you?
An “aviation engineering internship” is offered as a pupil internship at the Manching location.

When can you apply?
We offer pupil internships in the following calendar weeks: 07, 13, 14, 21, 28, 29, 30

What does the internship include?
During the aeronautical engineering internship, simple, practical activities in the mechanical area (bending, filing, drilling, assembly) and in the electrical area (soldering, wiring, testing, installing) are taught. Supervision is provided by our apprentices. The internship is rounded off with extensive information about the apprenticeships and the dual study programs at the Manching location.

Each internship lasts a maximum of one week.

Pupils who would like to complete a voluntary internship must be at least 15 years old.
