Ilona Sitova holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and is an expert in the climate impact of aviation focusing on CO2 and non-CO₂ emissions.

Since joining MUAC in 1999, she has focused on developing strategies to enhance flight efficiency and reduce aviation’s environmental footprint.

Ilona has contributed significantly to international research and represented MUAC/EUROCONTROL at major forums, advocating for sustainable aviation practices.

At Airbus Summit 2025, Ilona will speak to the variety of challenges ahead for non-CO2 emissions, particularly from an air traffic management and operations perspective. Having worked for many years to promote sustainable aviation practices, her perspective lends a view on tactical and pre-tactical mitigation and the tools required to successfully manage operational solutions.
