Harnessing the power of responsible AI

A more sustainable and efficient future
RESPONSIBLE AI USE
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into every aspect of society, there is a collective responsibility for businesses to ensure that AI’s exciting potential is harnessed in a responsible and ethical manner. Building trustworthy, reliable and explainable internal AI programmes is paramount to this task.
As this is a global challenge facing all industries, Airbus welcomed representatives from Google and John Deere as well as internal experts to the Airbus Summit 2025 to discuss how AI can be harnessed responsibly to create a more sustainable and efficient future for all. Examples ranged from improving internal operations and production processes to supporting climate action through the processing of satellite imagery and improving weather forecasting.

PROCESSING DATA
When it comes to fighting climate change, satellite imagery is invaluable. AI expands its use by processing the vast amounts of visual monitoring data rapidly, detecting changes and filling in the blanks. Airbus Defence and Space’s Connected Intelligence unit leverages the resulting information to allow third parties – ranging from NGOs, institutions, academia, media and businesses – to make informed decisions about protecting and restoring the environment.

Implementing AI throughout Airbus
INCREASING EFFICIENCY
For nearly two decades, Airbus has integrated AI responsibly across our operations and products. We use AI to enhance efficiency across our business, with demonstrated successes in engineering, services and production. This journey requires addressing challenges like data quality and building trustworthy, explainable AI systems – ensuring reliability for both internal processes and onboard aircraft functionalities.
