Dr Gabrielle Walker is a scientist, author and entrepreneur with a deep understanding of climate change/energy transition issues in business, policy & science. A former Professor at Princeton University, with a PhD from Cambridge University, she has been an advisor on energy, climate and policy at C-level to Fortune 100 companies, co-authored the Hot Topic,a best-selling book on climate change, and has written hundreds of articles about climate change in global newspapers and magazines. She has worked with the UK Government and international policy makers, and is former Climate Change Editor at Nature.
Gabrielle is a global thought leader and technical expert on carbon removals. She is Co-founder and Chief Scientist of CUR8, the leading market maker on carbon removals, and her TEDTalk on removals has been seen by nearly two million people. She also co-founded CUR8’s sister organisation, Rethinking Removals, working in partnership with Race to Zero and the UNFCCC High Level Champions, which engages at high level on narrative framing and standard shaping for carbon removals
Gabrielle is the author of four bestselling books, which have been published in 20 countries and translated into a dozen languages. She is an award-winning writer and broadcaster for TV and radio, and is an accomplished speaker and moderator for high-level panels and keynotes on all seven continents
She is solutions-orientated with a reputation for integrity, passion and persistence. A self-confessed “ice addict” Gabrielle has made more than a dozen trips to both poles. She has also climbed trees in the Amazon rainforest, swam with piranhas, been sneezed on by a humpback whale, hooked lava out of a live volcano, and flown in zero gravity.
