Aerostructure Airbus Atlantic

Engineering, production & integration expert

AIRBUS ATLANTIC

Airbus Atlantic engineers, develops, industrialises and manufactures large and complex composite and metallic aerostructure components as a Design & Build and a Build to Print partner for civil and military aircraft programs.

Airbus Atlantic is also one of the rare companies in the world able to deliver complete sections, fully equipped and tested, (called Plug & Fly), integrating hydraulic and electric systems.

Fuselage sections with an optimised design

Building on the expertise of hundreds of engineers, Airbus Atlantic masters tailor-made design solutions. Airbus Atlantic bets on agile methodology and Detailed Finite Element Modeling (DFEM) solutions to propose the best designs.

This innovative technology focuses on modelization and digital simulation of structural calculation (DFEM), allowing rapid access to a large quantity of ergonomically presented data. From initial analysis to post-processing results, the steps are automated in order to create the best added value.

Airbus Atlantic has the capacity to design aeronautical structures with an advanced design method based on optimization and artificial intelligence algorithms, which allow significant weight reduction and greatly shortened development cycles.

A strong and specific know-how in systems integration

Airbus Atlantic has also a strong and specific know-how in systems integration by developing and delivering fully equipped sections, with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, featuring metallic and composite materials.

Airbus Atlantic implements system integration for commercial, regional and business markets as well as for military programs. All the systems are functionally tested (pressure, continuity…) prior to delivery and offer a “Plug and Fly” solution.

  • Systems assembly, installation and testing for nose, front and centre fuselage sections for the Airbus A350, A330neo and A320 ; and for front and aft fuselage sections for the Airbus A220
  • Complete ATR wingsets, equipped and tested, including the final test benches (fuel and flight controls) ;
  • The central fuselage for the Global 7500, Bombardier’s top range business jet, fully, equipped with systems (electric, hydraulic…) ;
  • Aerostructure sub-assemblies for the centre fuselage section for the Dassault Aviation Falcon 10X
  • Aft access ramp for the A400M, fully equipped with functional hydraulic and electric systems (in flight opening / closing).

Our programmes

We are a key pillar for the whole Airbus family and a partner for Bombardier's Global 7500 and Dassault’s Falcon 10X.

A220

Airbus Atlantic produces and equips entirely, in Canada, the front and aft fuselage sections of the aircraft.

A320 family

Airbus Atlantic provides the entire front fuselage, the centre wing box and the air inlets for all of the Airbus single-aisle family.

A330 family

Airbus Atlantic manufactures the nose and centre fuselage sections, the centre wing box, the keel beam and the air inlets.

A350 family

Airbus Atlantic manufactures the front and centre fuselage sections, the main landing gear box, the centre wing box, the keel beam and the air inlets for the A350, demonstrating its expertise in composite and hybrid materials.

A400M

For the military market, Airbus Atlantic designs and manufactures the front fuselage section, the centre wing box, the radome, the rudder and the aft access ramp for the A400M, equipped with their functional, hydraulic and electric systems.

ATR

Airbus Atlantic manufactures fully equipped wingsets for the ATR aircraft, as well as the centre wing box, the nacelles and some cabin furnishing elements.

Global 7500

Thanks to its strong footprint in Canada, Airbus Atlantic designs, manufactures and equips the centre fuselage section of Bombardier’s Global 7500 business jet.

Falcon 10X

Airbus Atlantic builds on new innovative processes based on digital continuity, from design to production, to develop and provide four aerostructure sub-assemblies for the centre fuselage section of this aircraft (lower shell, aft fuel tank, upper section of the fuselage and emergency exit door).

Helicopters

hanks to its expertise in the use of composite materials, Airbus Atlantic manufactures specific sub-assemblies for the helicopter market, for example the entire structure of Airbus Helicopters’ H175.
