Over 40 years in Indonesia

Airbus and Indonesia have maintained an enduring relationship for over 40 years, starting in 1976 when PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) licensed the production of the NC212 light tactical aircraft and NBO-105 helicopter. In February 1979, Garuda Indonesia ordered the A300B4, contributing to the development of the world's first widebody aircraft with a two-pilot crew.

Since then, Airbus has become a leading supplier of commercial aircraft, helicopters, and defence products in Indonesia. Airbus is also Indonesia's largest aviation industry partner, with Indonesian firms supplying aerostructures and components for Airbus products. Additionally, Airbus supports the training of pilots, engineers, and technicians in Indonesia, addressing the growing demand for aviation professionals.

Our products & services

Airbus collaborates with Indonesia’s space agency to provide satellite imagery.

Through this partnership, the agency receives images from Airbus-built Pleiades and TerraSAR-X satellites, which assist in monitoring and optimising the country’s natural resources, enhancing its ability to manage and utilise these them more effectively.

Industrial partnerships

PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) produces structures for the C295 medium-lift transporter and operates a final assembly line for the type. In addition the manufacturer supplies a wide range of components for the A320 Family and long range A350s, as well as the main fuselage assembly and tail boom for both civil and military variants of the H225 helicopter.

Based on the long-term relationship between Airbus and PTDI, the two companies recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore opportunities for extended partnerships, especially in the defence and helicopter markets.
