Carmen-Maja Rex is Chief Human Resources Officer of Airbus and a member of the Airbus Executive Committee since 1 April 2025. 

She was previously HR Group Director at Heidelberg Materials from 2020 onwards, where she oversaw people transformation and talent management, as well as global Health & Safety. In this role, Carmen-Maja Rex was instrumental in digitising the company’s global human resources processes, establishing standards and transparency in more than 50 countries​ and supporting the strategic sustainability transformation of the group.  

Carmen-Maja Rex brings a wealth of experience to Airbus having worked in the private and public sectors in different industries and regions of the world. 

She started her career as a management consultant with Accenture in 1999, before joining ​the United Nations in 2003 as a Junior P​rofessional Officer in N​ew Y​ork. She subsequently took on HR roles with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), including Director Recruitment for South East Asia and Head of Surge Capacity, as well as HR assignments in Afghanistan and Timor-Leste. 

Carmen-Maja Rex joined Siemens in 2010 where she  held a number of senior positions in people development and human capital management, such as Leadership Development Manager, Global HR Business Partner and Global Head of HR Strategy & Transformation. ​

Born in Germany, Carmen-Maja Rex holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from the Ruhr University Bochum and a certificate in Human Resources Management from Cornell University.
