Training services for North America
The North American Training Academy is located at the Grand Prairie headquarters of Airbus Helicopters, Inc., where the company's resources come together for technical support, customer support, administration, sales and marketing in the United States.
The academy hones the skills of more than 1,500 pilots and technicians annually, with classes serving law enforcement, parapublic, and military operations.
Scholarships
Airbus Helicopters North America is proud to sponsor the following training scholarships and awards on an annual basis.
Airbus Helicopters North America/Helisim LLC AS350 Scenario-Based Training Course Scholarship
This scholarship gives two Whirly-Girls the opportunity to strengthen their aeronautical decision-making skills and aircraft systems knowledge through scenario-based training in a Helisim LLC AS350 Full Flight Simulator (FFS). The training given will include an IIMC event and a real-world mission with hydraulic failure scenarios. This is a two-day course including ground training and for each scenario approximately one hour in the simulator. The course is given at the Airbus Helicopters North American Academy in Grand Prairie, Texas, USA.
Bill Sanderson Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT)
The Bill Sanderson AMT Scholarship provides full tuition to complete a maintenance course from a selection of courses offered by various airframe and power plant manufacturers. The award includes a monetary stipend of $500 to $1,600 to assist with travel, lodging, and food. Up to six scholarships may be awarded annually.

Free IIMC Pilot Course Incentive
USAIG and Airbus Helicopters North America (AHNA) have a robust tradition of teaming to encourage helicopter operators to consistently participate in high-quality recurrent training endorsed by the manufacturers of their aircraft. The AHNA Training Center in Grand Prairie, TX has long been a USAIG Safety Bucks program participant. That program enables policyholders with turbine-powered helicopters under coverage to select $2500 in Safety Bucks.
