The C295 combines the benefits of a tactical medium transport aircraft with the versatility of an Aerial Fire Fighter.
C295 Aerial firefighter: rapid response and multirole capability
The C295 can be quickly converted into an Aerial Fire Fighter capable of dropping more than 5 tonnes of retardant for fire containment thanks to a Roll-on/ Roll-off kit.
The second generation of the well known MAFFS (Modular Aerial Fire Fighting Systems) kit is a proven and mature technology that has been in operation for more than 15 years, dropping millions of gallons of liquid on fires.
The kit is easily installed in the cargo cabin through the rear ramp and is fully adaptable to the complete C295 Transport in service fleet.
This solution enables C295 operators to use the aircraft as a FireFighter in periods of high fire risk, and as a multirole transporter during the remainder of the year.
