Enabling Secure Multi-Domain Operation

Opening the door to FCAS

Through the hardware-agnostic open system architecture approach of MARS, assets from Air, Sea, Land and Space domains can be seamlessly integrated into a System of Systems (SOS) to support FCAS.

Via a modern digital infrastructure of MARS, data hosting and distribution as well as data relay and data processing will securely leverage all advantages of Air Combat Cloud & Multi-Domain-Combat Cloud through the fog layer to the edge layer, through decentralized data integration and dissemination (data mesh) based on modular and scalable infrastructure, built to work with hybrid networks.

MARS sensor effector suite

MARS is Ready for any Effector & Sensor Suite

The Mission System will minimize integration efforts for new sensors or effectors via a standardised Data Management Architecture support by its unique digital infrastructure. This forms the basis for cross-platform weapon employment and cloud-based sensor fusion and exploitation. MARS will be at the heart of future Airbus planned developments – manned & unmanned.

MARS software stack

MARS allows Rapid and Low-Cost Evolution

Platform Overview

The open architecture-based application-agnostic software platform incl. the dedicated Software Development Kit (SDK) will enable fast pace of change and independent evolution of applications for update cycles less then hours. The SDK allows partners the development of their own functions to achieve state-of-the-art capability fit for our customers missions. The used software technologies will allow functionality embedded in containers being deployed to the platform during mission on-demand.

Ready for Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA)

Full Mission Autonomy

MARS builds upon the experience gathered with our existing Product portfolio and our teaming demonstrators, providing a suitable functional framework for mission autonomy. Collaborative mission capability needs to be safe, secure and resilient to various attack vectors. Operators of manned assets are equally affected as unmanned assets. MARS ensures superiority of information, decision and execution orchestrating through machine learning AI-based functions, enabling real-time situational awareness, automated decision making and coordinated operations across domains.
