Volker Mang became Executive Vice President Human Resources for Airbus Helicopters in September 2023. As a member of the Airbus Helicopters Executive Committee, he is responsible for enhancing the division’s human resources strategy and implementing employee-focused initiatives.
Volker started his career at Airbus in 2000, bringing over two decades of international expertise, with prominent positions held in Germany, France and Spain. With a long-standing career dedicated to Human Resources, his scope has also included the governance of Facility Management, Security and Health & Safety, with roles overseeing company performance and the development and streamlining of shared services.
From 2017 to August 2023, Volker was Head of HR Military Air Systems and Head of HR Airbus Defense & Space Spain. Prior to that, he was Head of HR Business Services & Operations (2015 - 2017), Head of Airbus Group Personnel Services (2012 - 2015), and Head of Executive Management, Compensation and Benefits, and International HR (2009 - 2012). In addition to this, he was HR Business Partner Programmes (2006 - 2008), Head of Human Resources and General Services AirCabin GmbH (2003 - 2005), Executive Assistant to EVP HR Airbus (2001 - 2003) and an integral member of of the HR project team responsible for the creation of EADS (2000 - 2001).
Volker holds a German law degree from Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen and a postgraduate degree in Public International Law from the University Aix-Marseille. His international background and experience living outside of Europe (United States and Japan) have fostered a keen interest in intercultural understanding, history and its multifaceted perspectives, and security policy.
