Stefan Thomé is Executive Vice-President Programmes of Airbus Helicopters as of January 1, 2024. In this role he will lead the business’ programmes and remain a member of the Airbus Helicopters Executive Committee. He will also maintain his position as Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Germany, which he has held since December 2022.
From 2019 to 2023, Thomé was Executive Vice President Engineering and Chief Technical Officer for Airbus Helicopters. In these roles, Thomé was responsible for the manufacturer's engineering department, leading a team of more than 3,000 people worldwide and contributing with his teams to Airbus Helicopters’ decarbonisation roadmap and to the design, development, and certification of its products and solutions. Prior to that, Thomé was Head of New Business Models & Services, leading new digital business models and services at Airbus Defence & Space.
From 2013 to 2018, Thomé was Head of Vehicle Integration & Doors Engineering, overseeing related global activities at Airbus Helicopters and contributing to the definition of the business’ research and innovation policy. He has also held several other management positions at Airbus Helicopters, focusing on engineering and industrial activities.
Stefan Thomé received his aeronautical engineering degree from the University of Stuttgart before starting his career as an engine and fuel systems specialist in 1998.
