Nicolas Chrétien

Nicolas Chrétien was appointed Head of Strategy of the Commercial Aircraft business in January 2024. 

Prior to his current role Nicolas was Senior Vice President Sustainability and Environment at Airbus, a role he had held since 2020, where he led Airbus-wide governance on sustainability matters, including at Board and Executive Committee level. He was accountable for driving Airbus’ sustainability ambition and strategy, and led the Sustainability & Environment department. 

From 2016 to 2019, Nicolas was Vice President within Investor Relations and Financial Communication, where he led Corporate Social Responsibility matters. From 2008 to 2015 he worked as Structured Finance Director and later became Head of Debt Capital Markets & Rating.

Nicolas joined Airbus in 2006 as a Senior Airline Market Analyst, from Dassault Aviation, where he began his aviation-oriented career as a Product Support Engineer.

An Aerospace Engineering Graduate (ISAE, Toulouse, France), holding a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech (USA), Nicolas is a keen musician and the proud father of two children.
