François Lombard is Senior Vice President Head of Strategy for Airbus Defence and Space, and a member of the Airbus Defence and Space Executive Committee, since January 2023.
Additionally, since February 2020, François has been the Managing Director for Connected Intelligence in France, representing all Connected Intelligence activities towards the French authorities.
Between March 2017 and December 2022, François led the Intelligence business within Airbus Defence and Space, taking on P&L ownership and leading a team of around 2,000 employees worldwide in the fields of commercial satellite imagery, geospatial services and defence intelligence solutions.
François joined Airbus in 2005 and has held several executive positions in Business Development, Strategy and Operations across the defence and space domains.
In 2011, he was appointed head of strategic development of the Airbus Satellite business line. In 2013, he then led the international operations of the Airbus Electronics business line, which included managing industrial activities and several joint-ventures in the US, India, South Africa and Russia.
Before joining Airbus, François worked for US and German car manufacturers in finance, services and logistics.
François has studied Business Administration in France and Denmark and holds a Master’s Degree in Finance.
